Here are some of our most frequently asked questions about the Pitch Protection service.

Who can register a pitch?

This service is only available to staff at IPA member agencies and those in the Accelerator Scheme. You will need to have created a member account and be logged in to the IPA website to register a pitch.

How do I access the Pitch Protection tool?

  1. You are registered as a member on the IPA website
  2. Log in to the IPA website
  3. Click on your profile icon to load your personal portal
  4. Click on the Pitch Protection link under Account

What details do I need to submit a pitch?

Before you start to submit your pitch you will need the following:

  • Pitch Title
  • Client Name
  • Product/Service name
  • Producers (Individuals or company)
  • Key Concept/Idea
  • Pitch document(s) (Up to three PDF files smaller than 100MB each)

What files can I upload?

You can only upload a document in a PDF format with a maximum file size of 100MB.

If you have a other formats please convert them into a PDF first.

What is the maximum file size I can upload?

Each file uploaded should be a maximum file size of 100MB. 

A maximum of three files can be uploaded per pitch registration.

How can I reduce the size of my Pitch documents?

There are several ways to reduce the size of the file(s) you are uploading to the Pitch Protection portal. 

  1. Remove any video(s)
  2. Don't use high quality images
  3. Compress/Optimise your PDF file

Can I include videos in my pitch document?

No, your uploaded PDF should not contain videos. You are registering the concept/idea. 

Also, removing any videos will greatly reduce the file size of the PDF you are uploading.   

What if I have more than three files to upload?

If you have more than three files that you want to register, then you should merge the files beforehand. Do keep in mind the maximum file size of 100MB.

Why does it take so long to upload my pitch files?

The larger your file(s) the longer it will take to upload. A large file (100MB) can take up to five minutes to upload. It also depends on the upload speed of your internet connection.

How do I register a pitch on the IPA website

Before we take a look at the steps involved in registering a pitch, please note the following:

Files:

  1. Only PDF files can be uploaded
  2. A maximum of three PDF files can be uploaded
  3. Each file should not exceed 100MB
  4. Large files take longer to upload, eg. 100MB PDF can take over five minutes to upload depending on your internet connection

Fields:

  1. The Pitch Title field only accepts alphanumeric characters, A to Z, 0 to 9
  2. The other fields accept all characters
  3. The Key Concept maximum field length is 1,000 characters 
  4. The other fields allow 300 characters

It will help to have the following details before you begin:

  • Pitch Title
  • Client Name
  • Product/Service
  • Producer(s)
  • Key Concept(s)
  • Pitch file(s) in PDF format and optimised
  • Pitch file(s) description

Steps:

  1. Tick the Legal Disclaimer box if you agree
  2. Click the Register Pitch button
  3. Check your details are correct and click the Next> button
  4. Insert your Pitch title
  5. Insert the name of the Client
  6. Insert the name of the Product/Service
  7. Insert the name of the Producer(s), individuals and/or agency name(s)
  8. Insert the Key Concept(s)
  9. Click on the Save button
  10. Click on the Choose Files button to select the file you want to upload from your computer
    (Please note you can only upload a maximum of three files)
  11. Add a description for the file eg. Pitch doc, Additional presentation, File 1, Doc 1
  12. Once completed click Submit

Your pitch documents will be uploaded and a Certificate of Registration emailed to you.

What if I don't receive my certificate of registration?

Once you have uploaded your pitch files and the submission is completed, you should receive your certificate of registration within an hour. If you don't receive it please check it has not been blocked by your SPAM/Junk filters. 

Alternatively, you can go to My Pitches, select your pitch. Scroll down to the Files section and download your certificate by clicking on the certificate link. 

Why can't I see all of my agency's submitted pitches

All users can only see the pitches they have registered themselves. Members with seniority are assigned a Senior Contact role and are able to view all of the submitted pitches by their agency.
