IPA member agencies celebrated a successful Cannes Lions 2023 festival, with 20 agencies picking up a combined 78 awards (including joint entries). This includes three Grand Prix, 20 Gold, 26 Silver and 29 Bronze Lions.
Grand Prix prizes were awarded in Film to adam&eveDDB for 'The Last Photo' with ITV and CALM, in Media to Ogilvy London for their #Turnyourback campaign with Dove, while Publicis Groupe UK won the Lions Health Grand Prix for Good for their Working with Cancer Pledge.
Commenting on the wins, IPA Director General Paul Bainsfair said: "Creativity is the lifeblood of our industry so it is heartening to see so many of our IPA agencies picking up a much coveted Cannes Lion – in fact this year marks the highest number of agencies winning awards since 2017. Congratulations to all this year’s winners for demonstrating the art and power of UK creativity."
At Cannes, the IPA and WARC hosted a session with Karen Martin, Les Binet, Dr Grace Kite, and Tom Roach challenging the narrative that creativity is declining and digital is the culprit. This was then presented in more detail at a webinar following the festival.
