Marshall Cavendish Partworks: Amazing Discovery - people respond to advertising
'Discovery' was a partwork publication aimed at 7-13 year olds, launched into a very crowded market. Magazine was aimed at bringing historical characters to life. Launched in Harlech TV area results indicated Part One would exceed 330,000, leading to a national launch at the end of December 1987. Actual sales were 470,000. High awareness amongst both children and adults, especially amongst the more upmarket. High correlation shown of advertising affect on rate of sale.
