The TV rental market was in decline when a new retail product Option 3 was devised. Normal monthly rental payments but after a period of three years the TV/VCR became the property of the consumer. Paper describes the 1986 campaign using TV and national press. Conclusive evidence showed advertising succeeded with regional increase between 50 and 200%. Evidence shown of awareness and consumers understood the advantages of the scheme.
