CPD Accreditation

Every year we help our member agencies meet their accreditation requirements. After all, it's the yardstick by which the UK's best agencies want to be measured. And in these complex and chaotic times, it provides a solid grounding from which to forge ahead.

How to achieve Accreditation

In January every year you'll need to be ready to prove that you have adhered to these five criteria in order to become an Accredited Member of the IPA

  1. A Strategic Development Plan (SDP) linked to the agency's business objectives outlining the training plan for the year ahead.
  2. An induction programme for all joiners
  3. A thorough appraisal system
  4. CPD Diaries for each member of staff to log learning activity - with at least 24 hours logged
  5. A minimum of 10% of agency staff have passed their LegRegs or their Commercial Certificate
  6. We'll select a third of members for a CPD Progress Review each year. We'll check that the CPD performance is supporting the SDP and help plan future activity - there's no charge for this service.

Recognising outstanding results

We think it's important to reward agencies who achieve outstanding results too. So for those who can prove real business gains due to outstanding use of CPD, we'll reward them with Gold or Platinum Accreditation.

Rewarding individuals

But helping agencies maximise their potential isn't our only motivation. We want individual Advertising Practitioners to be viewed on the same footing as Architects, Engineers and Lawyers. So in 2016 we launched a personal membership scheme (MIPA).

MIPA is a rigorous accreditation that practitioners can add to the end of their name on their business card or CV. It's an accolade that will instantly identify them as having achieved best practice in a challenging field.
